  12. I recently purchased a no-name 28.8K baud modem from Fry's for $100.  It is 
  13. built in the USA and uses the Rockwell chipset (same one as the ZOOM modem).
  14. About one third of the time it connects at 28.8K, usually it connects at 
  15. 26.4K, and sometimes it connects as low as 21K or 19K.  How do the name 
  16. brands compare to this?  Do they connect at 28.8K consistently?

  18. I have 3 more weeks to take it back if not satisfied.  Feedback is
